A Chess.com Game Review alternative for practicing your mistakes
If you want to review completed games and practice the mistakes you keep making, Blunderbase offers that loop for free. You can keep playing on Chess.com.
When staying on Chess.com makes sense
Chess.com puts Game Review beside the game you just finished. Its guided review includes Accuracy, move classifications, coach explanations and opportunities to retry key moves. Self Analysis lets you explore lines yourself. If you value that integrated experience, you may already have the right tool. Chess.com’s Game Review guide describes these features.
What you get with Blunderbase
Import your completed Chess.com or Lichess Rapid and Blitz games. Keep Blunderbase open while Stockfish analyzes them, replay the game, and try another line on the board. Flagged positions become personal puzzles that return on a schedule. The aim is to turn a reviewed mistake into something you can recognize in your next game.
Review, engine analysis, personal puzzles and scheduled practice are free. Free imports reach back ninety days. Game Review explains the position from saved engine evidence; it does not offer an AI conversation or reproduce Chess.com’s Accuracy score.
How the costs compare
Chess.com offers free review features, while unlimited Game Review and some advanced analysis features require Premium. Check its current membership offer for your location and billing interval.
Blunderbase Pro is $4.99 a month or $39 a year. It adds a weekly program around one weakness, three practice sessions, and a comparison with newly played games. It also adds automatic imports, twelve months of import history and a higher allowance for the position coach in supported training flows. See what each plan includes.
Try it without moving your chess account
Create a Blunderbase account and enter your chess-site username to import completed games. Your Chess.com membership, annotations and learning progress do not transfer, and Blunderbase does not cancel another subscription. Analysis pauses when you close the app and resumes on a later visit. Manual PGN upload is not available.
Start with the example review, then review one of your own games. Choose Blunderbase if returning to your own mistakes is the part of your routine you want help with. Keep Chess.com if its integrated guided review is already doing that job for you.
Comparison checked on September 12, 2026. Blunderbase is independent of Chess.com.
